Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources is looking for behavioral healthcare professionals.
The facility will hold a career fair from 9 a.m. to noon May 4 at PBMHR’s HR office at 4100 Mamie St. in Hattiesburg.
Opportunities are available for social work professionals or upcoming May graduates seeking their first jobs, and for both BSW and MSW degree-holders.
“We have several wraparound facilitator, case manager and therapist jobs open,” says Natalie Bond, employment coordinator for PBMHR. “We’ve done a lot of expanding over the past six months with new grants, and with the unemployment rate low, it’s been tough getting those jobs filled.
“May graduates ares great. We do an orientation (May 14) that starts right after they graduate, so we could easily slip someone in there who is about to graduate or someone who is already in the field and looking for a change.”
School of Social Work Director Dr. Tim Rehner says social workers are “critically important” to community mental health. “Social workers provide over 60 percent of all mental health services across the nation. We should have social workers in mental health in Mississippi. Social workers have the knowledge, skills, and values that apply uniquely to community mental health settings.”
Bond says Pine Belt has been “very successful” with social worker who have more of a mental health interest. “For someone who has interned at a mental health center, like Pine Grove, it’s an easy transition to come into community mental health.”
Candidates can apply in advance online, and should bring their resumes and IDs if they attend the fair. CallĀ 601.264.2111 for more information.
